- Hinds and Hinds Waterline Relocation
This project includes the removal of a waterline from private property and on to the public right of way. The budget for this project is $160,000. - La Lomita Sewer Line Improvements
This project will include engineering and design for the rehabilitation of an 8” clay line. The rehab will include slip lining and manhole rehab.
The budget for this project is $400,000. - Street Sweeper
- The Town will purchase an Elgin street sweeper which is funded through a New Mexico Legislative Appropriation ($50,000) and Town of Taos Funds ($232,264). The total project cost is $282,264.
- Taos Valley Regional Wastewater Treatment and Reclamation Facility Solar Array
This project includes the installation of a photovoltaic (PV) system to offset the operational costs of running the Taos Valley Regional Wastewater Treatment and Reclamation Facility. The PV system will be built on approximately 4 acres of Town of Taos property adjacent to the wastewater treatment plant.
This project is funded through a grant ($1,150,000) and loan ($850,000) from the New Mexico Environment Department Clean Water State Revolving Fund and Town of Taos Funds ($111,318). The budget for this project is $2,111,318. - Valverde Sewer Line Improvements
This project will include engineering and design for the rehabilitation of an 8” clay line. The rehab will include slip lining and manhole rehab.
The budget for this project is $300,000. - Weimer Area Improvements
Work will include roadway and drainage improvements at the following locations: approximately 1521 Weimer, the intersection of Weimer and Maestas, and 1393 Weimer.
The construction budget for this project is $237,400. - Well Production and Storage Improvements
- The project will take place throughout multiple locations within the Municipal water system including: Well 4 – construction of new well house that will house the SCADA transmitter / receiver, disinfection system, instrumentation, and the installation of a backup generator that will serve as backup during power outages.
- Well 5 – installation of a generator that is designed to serve as backup in the event of power outages, replacement of existing disinfecting system, improvements to electrical components of the well house, including lighting, instrumentation, and SCADA transmitter / receiver will also be installed.
- Well 8 Booster Station – installation of a new water storage tank to provide capacity for the booster pump to fill the 1 million gallon tank and minimized the cycling frequency of the booster pumps. The tank and booster pump will be fully integrated into the SCADA system.
- Construction for this project is funded through a Community Development Block Grant ($750,000) and Town of Taos Funds ($175,150). The total construction budget is $925,150.
In the hopper
- NM 68 Water and Sewer Lines
This project is being done in coordination with the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) as part of their roadway reconstruction project. It will relocate water and sewer lines. The project will be bid out and managed by NMDOT.
The budget for the water and sewer line portion of this project is $675,587. - Taos Regional Landfill Cell Construction
Landfill cells have an average life of 6-8 years. Construction on a new cell should take place beginning in 2020.
The budget for planning, design and engineering is $126,906. - Taos Regional Landfill Equipment
The Taos Regional Landfill Board has recently determined that they will purchase rather than lease heavy equipment for the operations of Taos Regional Landfill. Equipment may include a scraper, grader, and/or loader.
The budget for this project is $622,630.
Recently Completed Projects
- Camino del Medio Resurfacing
The street resurfacing process includes the removal, recycling and reintroduction of asphalt onto roadways. This process provides for a smooth driving services and has an estimated life of 7 to 10 years. Construction was completed in November and funded through a New Mexico Department of Transportation Grant ($100,223), a New Mexico Legislative Appropriation ($75,000) and Town of Taos Funds ($63,138.61). The total project cost was $238,361.61. - Street Resurfacing
The street resurfacing process includes the removal, recycling and reintroduction of asphalt onto roadways. This process provides for a smooth driving services and has an estimated life of 7 to 10 years. Construction was completed in November and included Cruz Alta (Vegas de Taos to Paseo del Canon), Fernandez, Manzanares, Este Es (NM 68 to Gusdorf), Don Fernando (Manzanares to Saavedra), and San Antonio. The total cost was $859,594.78.
