Donations & Gifts

Donations of Money

The library appreciates any monetary donations given through the Friends of the Taos Public Library. Such donations are tax deductible. Donations may be made for specific purposes or to the Endowment Fund. All donations to purchase books to honor a person living or dead will be acknowledged with a special book plate in each book purchased.

Gifts of New or Used Books

The library is pleased to receive gifts of new and/or used books, and materials in good, clean condition, and good working order. In accepting gift materials, the library reserves the right to decide which gifts should be added to the library collection, which are given to other libraries, and which are sold in the Friends of the Library book store or book sale.

The library will not accept items with missing pages or discs, writing or underlining, or anything water damaged. The library requests that donors verify the condition of all items before donation. Receipts for gifts can only indicate the type and number of items donated. The donor is responsible for deciding the value of donated items.

Due to limited space, the library reserves the right to refuse donations at any given time.
